The main aim of this book is to provide students with a basic but comprehensive overview of the field of second language acquisition and foreign language teaching. The vast majority of students in the English Studies programme aspire to become part of the teaching profession, so this volume offers them the opportunity to reflect on some of the important factors in the way language is acquired, learned and taught.
