Presento un análisis de los sistemas morfológicos, compositivos y proporcionales de las pirámides mesoamericanas. Las causalidades de sendos grupos arquitectónicos-escultóricos poseen similitud en cuanto son monumentos simbólicos nacidos de profundas creencias mítico-religiosas, pero, tanto ideológica como morfológicamente, poseen sus respectivos criterios y, en el caso amerindio, gran variedad de diseños formales, circunstancia ésta que no se produjo en Egipto. Hay que tener en cuenta que Egipto fue una sola cultura, en cambio en América antigua hubo numerosas, cada una con su respectiva morfología. Se mostrarán los principales tipos de pirámides egipcias y mesoamericanas y, mientras las condiciones físicas de los monumentos lo permitan, se presentarán hipotéticos sistemas compositivos de las principales pirámides y templos. Este bagaje teórico pretende comprender la estructura estético-formal piramidal y templaria de cada pueblo y su coherencia de diseño con las respectivas configuraciones cosmovisivas.
